Maridel "Del" Harris Horsfall

Maridel (Del) Harris Horsfall, age 94, of Fairfield, died peacefully November 13, 2022. She born on July 18, 1928 to Arthur & Lila (Pratt) Harris. She was predeceased by her sister Flavia Jackson.

She is survived by her beloved family: daughter Barbara Siemon and her husband Walter, son Bill Horsfall and his wife Claudia, grandchildren Greg Siemon and his wife Kim and Katie Siemon, great grandchildren Emma & Shelby Siemon and Mackenzie Minor, nieces Betsey Jackson and Leslie Reincke, great nieces Jennie Williams and Sarah Williams.

Del grew up in Windsor, CT, attended UCONN and married in 1950, living most of her life in Westport and Fairfield. Del worked for over 25 years as the office manager at Greens Farms Church and was known for her easy smile and tireless work effort.

Del cherished time with family, especially her grandchildren, spending many hours as an enthusiastic cheerleader at their various athletic activities, especially swim meets. She was an avid reader, dog lover, bridge player and a diehard fan of the NY Yankees and UCONN Women’s Basketball teams. She stayed active by taking daily walks and working in her yard and garden. She was a devoted member of Greens Farms Church since 1955, as well as the philanthropic organization PEO and The Sea Lodge Beach Club. Del was a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives and the Fairfield Library. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor & quick wit and also as a gentle soul, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and loyal friend. 

The family would like to extend their grateful thanks to the staff of Bridges in Trumbull for the wonderful care she received while living there.

A celebration of her life for friends and family will be held on April 22, 2023, 1pm at Green’s Farms Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Del to Green’s Farms Church (71 Hillandale Road, Westport, CT 06880).
