Louis J. Forgione

Louis J. Forgione, age 90, of Weston CT, passed away at home on March 23 surrounded by his loving family. 

Lou was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 21,1930 to the late Vincent and Giovannina Forgione. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Lou was married to his wife Cecilia Forgione for 67 years. 

He worked at General Reinsurance Corp of Stamford CT for 40 years and retired in 1992 as Vice President and Treasurer. He attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and College of Insurance at NYU.

Lou served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the US Marine Corp Marching Band from 1948 - 1952.

Lou was very active in the community as a volunteer. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Daughters of Charity of the Most Precious Blood DayCare Center in Bridgeport CT and Treasurer of the Daughters of Charity Rescue Mission. He also served as a Minister of the Sick and Homebound at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Weston CT. He was a volunteer for the Soup Kitchen in Norwalk CT. And also served as Treasurer of Bed & Roses, a twenty-four hour caregiving facility for HIV patients.  

His family and faith were of utmost importance to him.

Lou is survived by his five children, Jeanmarie Ferullo, Cecilia Forgione and her husband Andy Haas, John Forgione and his wife Cara Forgione, Louis Forgione and his wife Kate Forgione, Vincent Forgione and his wife Laurisa Forgione, and his 11 cherished grandchildren - Paul, Chris, Stephen, Laura, Mia, Emma, Marco, Jack, JT, Nick, and Will. 

Funeral service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston CT on Tuesday March 30th  at 11am. Donations can be made in his name to Daughters of Charity Preschool and Rescue Mission at 1490 North Avenue, Bridgeport CT 06604  www.DCMPB.org
