Joseph "Joe" Charles Callahan

Joseph “Joe” Charles Callahan, age 77, of Fairfield, passed away on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021.  He was the son of the late Joseph James Callahan and Marie Rose Callahan.  Joe was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 15, 1943, and he was raised primarily in Fairfield, CT.  Joe graduated from Fairfield Prep in 1961 and Fairfield University in 1965.  He attained a M.S. in chemistry from Holy Cross in 1968.

Like his father, Joe worked for Remington-Dupont for many years.  He was an avid and excellent skeet shooter and instructor.  He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and flying.  He retired in Fairfield where he lived with his beloved dogs, Teddy and JoJo.

Joe is survived by his brother, Robert.  He is also survived by his nieces, Kristan Callahan, Katherine Callahan, Faith Callahan, and Rose Callahan-Kerman, his nephews, Brian Callahan, Brendan Callahan, Matthew Callahan, Andrew Callahan, and Dylan Callahan.

Friends are invited to a walk-through visitation on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 10-11am at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
