Donald Garcia Obituary

Donald R. Garcia, age 76, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Leticia (Martinez) Garcia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, January 11, 2022.  Born in Quezaltenango, Guatemala, the son of the late Catalino and Rebecca Garcia, he came to the United States in 1974 and had been a Fairfield resident since 1977.  Donald worked for 45 years for Dragone Classic Motorcars where he loved classic car restorations.  He enjoyed playing in adult soccer leagues in Bridgeport.  An accomplished and gifted artist, Don enjoyed oil painting and creating sculptures out of recycled metal.  He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and brother, who delighted in time spent with his family and dear friends.  In addition to his loving wife, Leticia, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Wilberth Garcia and his wife, Beatrice of Torrington and Donald E. Garcia of Fairfield; three siblings, Homer Garcia, and Naomi Garcia of Montreal, Canada and Ronaldo Garcia of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; Godchildren: Migdalia, Adan, Melisa, Adan, Jr. and Jackie; a niece, Chatalein and nephews, Wilberth M and Walter. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 AM at Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport.  Upon entering Main Gate please follow “Spear-Miller Funeral Home” signs to the gravesite.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s memory to Grains of Love, GT, 5a Avenida, Norte Antigua, Guatemala.
