Christopher David Stern, age 61, of Fairfield, passed away the evening of Friday, November 19, 2021. Born and raised in Fairfield, Chris attended Roger Ludlowe High School, graduating with the class of 1978. Chris worked for Klaffs in Norwalk for over 20 years before becoming self-employed as a driver. His genuine compassion and care for others led him to forge many lasting friendships with his clients. Chris enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the beach. He was passionate about his vehicles and enjoyed a good BBQ, regardless of weather. Most of all, Chris cherished the time spent and memories made with his beloved grandchildren. He was a sports fanatic, devotedly cheering on his favorite teams: the Mets, the Washington Football Team, and the Carolina Hurricanes. Chris embodied strong patriotism, always proud to be an American; and even more proud that his sons joined the United States Army.
Chris will be greatly missed by his sons, Alexander Stern (Kelly) of Fairfield, and Christopher Stern of Clearwater, FL; his grandchildren, Mason and Serena Stern of Fairfield; his mother, Marylou Stern of Fairfield; his brothers, Bruce Stern (Sandy) of Fairfield, and Brian Stern of Fairfield; his sister, Leslie Markey (John) of Fairfield; his stepmother, Virginia Stern of Deltona, FL and his ex-wife, Bonnie Stern of Port Richey, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Chris now joins his father, Barry Stern, who predeceased him.
